Partnership with Help For Kids

Dundee FC and Dundee FC Community Trust are extremely pleased to announce that the club are continuing to support the work of local charity Help For Kids.

In recent years Dundee FC and the Community Trust have supported Help For Kids and their annual Christmas Toy Appeal. Last year Help for Kids gave out 2097 Santa sacks in Dundee to make sure children did not wake up on Christmas Day without a present.

Help For Kids is a local children’s charity based in the heart of Dundee and Perth. Their primary aim is to support local children through the provision of individual funding, as well as funding for clubs and organisations. The support they provide is targeted to cases where children are disadvantaged through social and economic circumstances, or through health and disability. Their support is focused on children from birth all the way up to 18 years old, but they are not limited by this age bracket.

Help For Kids works directly with communities, families, support workers, volunteers and professionals to be able to provide the best and most effective support to the children who need it most.

Help For Kids is well known for its Christmas Toy Appeal, but they are active 365 days a year, making sure local children and their families are supported at all times.

Dundee FC and the Community Trust are committed to supporting Help For Kids all year round. The club will continue to donate to and actively support their Christmas Toy Appeal and in addition, will promote and support the work of Help For Kids throughout the year.

Dundee FC Community Trust Manager, Laura Costello said, “Dundee FC Community Trust and Dundee Football Club are delighted to keep supporting the vital work of Help For Kids. Sadly there is a lot of need for support in the local area and as a Dundee charity, The Dundee FC Community Trust are passionate about supporting other local charities. One charity is not single-handedly able to address all the needs locally. That is why we are proud to be working alongside Help For Kids and Stacey and her fantastic team as they support children and families in the Dundee area. One of the really important projects that Help For Kids runs is Beds for Bairns with The Hillcrest Foundation and Dundee Bairns, 30% of Dundee children are now living in poverty, with many experiencing poor sleep conditions and sleep deprivation. This project provides beds for children in Dundee who don’t have their own bed.”

Stacey Wallace, Help For Kids Charity Manager, said, “We are delighted to be working with Dundee Football Club and Dundee FC Community Trust. Our charity relies heavily on the support of our local community and businesses and the support we received at Christmas from the club and players was invaluable raising lots of awareness of our charity. The players really enjoyed being involved and it was good for them to see just where donations go in our city, we are so grateful to them all and everyone at the club and Community Trust and excited to continue this partnership.”

Dundee FC’s Simon Murray has recently become an Ambassador for Help For Kids and he said, “Help For Kids do fantastic work in Dundee. Being from Dundee, I’m passionate about the city and it is important that we do what we can to help those that need it. I have become familiar with the work of Help For Kids through the club supporting their Christmas Toy Appeal last year and I saw how hard all of their staff and volunteers work making sure children in Dundee get a Christmas present. They do other really important work throughout the year that myself and the club will support.”

Dundee supporters will see the club and the Trust sharing the important work of Help to Kids on their social media channels.
