Dundee Football Club are excited to announce that young central defender Charley Oosenbrugh has signed his first professional contract at the club.
Sixteen-year-old Charley has been part of the Dundee Academy since the age of six and has been part of the Dundee FC Performance School at St John’s High School.
Last season, Charley was part of the Under-18s squad that made it to the Scottish Youth Cup Final at Hampden, where he started the match against Kilmarnock.
After signing his professional contract at Dundee, Charley said, “It is brilliant to sign my first professional contract, this is my tenth year at the club, and it is the icing on the cake. It has really helped me being part of the Performance School at St John’s, having time out of class to improve my football skills and improve my technique, but still being in school to receive my education.
“It was a dream to play at Hampden, Scott Robertson gave me the opportunity to be part of the 18’s this season, and I have loved it. It was quite difficult at the start coming into the 18’s, being the youngest in the squad, but I think over time, as I’ve played more games, I’ve got stronger and quicker, and I think my understanding of the game has improved. I’ve made it into the under-18s squad, and over the next year I would love to train more with the first team and make my first-team debut.”
