McCracken returns to The Dee

Dundee Football Club are excited to announce that goalkeeper, Jon McCracken has returned to the club for the remainder of the season from Norwich City, subject to international clearance.

Jon originally signed for The Dee at the start of July and was with the club for pre-season, the Viaplay Cup and played in our first league match of the season against Motherwell. Jon played four competitive matches for Dundee before being recalled by Norwich due to a change in their goalkeeping department.

Jon then went out to Accrington Stanley on an emergency loan and played 13 times for the League Two side before returning to Norwich.

Speaking on his return to Dundee Jon said, β€œIt feels good to be back at the club and to see familiar faces again. Once I got the initial phone call about coming back, I spoke to the manager and I was eager to get back to the club. I really enjoyed the games I played for Dundee, I got one game at home on the first day of the season against Motherwell and it was a great atmosphere. I am looking forward to seeing the fans again because they followed us home and away when I was here and I know they will do that again.”

On McCracken returning for the second part of the season Dundee manager, Tony Docherty said, β€œI’m delighted to have Jon back at the club, he made a big impression on everybody at the start of the season. He played four matches for us, three in the League Cup and one in the League keeping two clean sheets for us. He is a really competent goalkeeper, he’s very popular amongst the boys in the dressing room and he will fit right back into the dressing room. It is important for me to have strong competition in every position for the last part of the season and I want that with our goalkeepers and bringing Jon in gives us a real level of competition.”

Welcome back Jon!
