Dundee head north this weekend for the third meeting against Inverness Caledonian Thistle of the season.
Manager Paul Hartley added two new faces to the squad on deadline day with Henrik Ojamaa and Marc Klok joining. He spoke to the press ahead of the fixtures and said of the signings, “I think it was important that we added to the squad. I think bringing Henrik in was a really important one for us, in terms of a body up front, but he has good quality about him. Still only 25 but he knows the league really well. He’s had a couple of spells at Motherwell.”
“The way that he plays, he is really positive, he’s sharp. I think he’ll work well with Haber, Wighton and El Bakhtaoui. Bringing the two lads in definitely gave us a boost in terms of numbers.”
“Marc has really impressed me, he’s had experience of the league as well, he’s played in England. Two young players but both have good experience.”
Last week saw a defeat to Aberdeen with the manager only able to name 5 substitutes, he continued, “We were low on numbers last week, just because of suspension and a couple of injuries. I think it was important that we added a couple and hopefully we have the right ones in.”
“We’ve got eleven games before the split, it’s in our hands where we want to be and it’s up to us to get points now. It might not be pretty at times in terms of performances but we need to try and get as many points as possible before the split.”
Inverness also tasted defeat in their last match, a 3-0 loss to Hamilton Accies, the manager said of the trip to the highlands, “It’s vital we get the three points and I’m sure Richie will be saying the same to his players after a disappointing result the other night. We expect a backlash from them but we have to bounce back from last week against Aberdeen. The league is that tight there are probably 6 or 7 managers all thinking the same way, your not from the bottom but you are a couple of points from the top six. I think every point is going to be vital and that starts Saturday, we have make sure we are up for it.”
The manager confirmed that Kevin Holt and Darren O’Dea will be back in contention while the new signings will also be in the matchday squad. “The two lads will be added to the squad, Kevin Holt is back from injury and O’Dea is back from suspended, which is a key thing for us. We are travelling with a stronger squad this week.”
