We spoke to manager Paul Hartley following Dundee’s 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle at Dens on Saturday afternoon.
The boss firstly gave his thoughts on the match, “First half we didn’t play the way we can. Credit to Thistle, I thought they were excellent and we go a goal down early. Second half, the response, the energy and the effort from the players was different class.”
Thistle led at the break but Dundee controlled the second half and half time substitute Craig Wighton grabbed a equaliser. Paul said, “We had to have a go that’s for sure. We didn’t want to have any regrets at the end of the match. The players gave it their all. They’ve had a tough week but we’re still undefeated in the top flight.”
On Craig, the manger told us, “He’s good under pressure and he finished it like a veteran.” He also agreed that the youngster deserved his Man of the Match award, “Rightly so, he was excellent.”
Dundee had chances to win the game, including a penalty which Gary Harkins saw saved by Paul Gallacher, but Paul said, “That happens, there is no blame culture here. Jeebsy (Harkins) misses it but he took the responsibility to take it.”
He continued, “We created some chances, credit to the players, they are putting in some effort thats for sure. “The players we can’t fault them, they are working ever so hard, they’ve got a great attitude.”
