Dundee FC in the Community and St Andrews & East Neuk Community Football Club (SAEN CFC) are together delighted to announce the creation of an innovative partnership, designed to bring football coaching to ALL primary school children across the St Andrews, East Neuk and Tay Bridgehead areas.
Building on coaching sessions already being delivered to a number of primary schools in the region, the programme now developed means that top-level football skills coaching will be more widely accessible than ever before.
In addition to the expansion of the After Schools sessions, the community club is now inviting players to take the next step along the SFA-developed PATHWAY of football participation. Boys and girls of primary school age are invited to attend one of three Weekend Soccer Centres:
- Girls – Saturdays 10.30am at St Andrews University Sports Centre (18th November onwards)
- Boys – Saturdays 11.15am at Waid Academy Campus, Anstruther (18th November onwards)
- Boys – Sundays 9.30am at St Andrews University Sports Centre (starts 19th November)
To start with, Dundee FC in the Community coaching staff will attend the St Andrews Sunday session, alongside SAEN CFC coaches. SAEN CFC coaches will continue to deliver the Saturday sessions, with Dundee FC in the Community joining in as we move ahead in 2018.
Community Club Chairman John Drysdale commented: “This is a fantastic boost to the programme we have been working on since early this year. The involvement of Dundee FC in the Community will help us grow participation levels even further, as well as significantly raising our profile”.
Dundee FC in the Community Manager added: “Dundee FC in the Community sees this as an exciting opportunity to involve youngsters in football, and looks forward to working closely with the local Community Football Club in North-East Fife for the foreseeable future.”
