Licenses granted for alcohol sales

Licenses granted for alcohol sales

Dundee Football Club will be granted licenses for controlled alcohol sales at home fixtures this season, starting with the upcoming matches against Hibernian and St Johnstone.

This weekend, alcohol will be on sale in the Bobby Cox stand from two hours before kick-off, until 30 minutes before kick-off. There will not be alcohol sales in the Bob Shankly stand for this fixture.

For the St Johnstone fixture, there will be alcohol sales in both the Bobby Cox and Bob Shankly stands at the above times.

The initiative forms part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the supporter experience at Dens Park, while ensuring a safe, welcoming and enjoyable matchday environment for all fans.

Licenses will only be considered for lower-risk, non-Category CIR fixtures and will be made in consultation with the relevant authorities. Each application will still be subject to approval and reviewed individually. If granted, supporters in the Bobby Cox, and where applicable the Bob Shankly, stands will be able to purchase alcohol before kick-off.

Sales will be operated in full compliance with all licensing conditions and under strict safety and stewarding arrangements. Alcohol consumption will be restricted to designated concourse areas and will not be permitted in view of the pitch. These areas will be closely monitored to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all supporters, with existing match day safety protocols remaining fully in place. All sales of alcohol will be strictly for those over the age of 18, however children are still welcome within the stands with alcohol sales.

Experiences from previous approved applications across Scottish football have demonstrated that a carefully managed and responsible approach to alcohol sales can enhance the overall matchday experience while maintaining a safe and positive environment for supporters, staff and the wider community.

You can buy season tickets in the Bobby Cox stand HERE. If you have already purchased a season ticket in another stand and wish to move to a stand selling alcohol, please contact the ticket office.
