Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Callum Jones, subject to international clearance.

The 24-year-old joins The Dee on a two-year deal after leaving Hull City at the end of last season.

At the age of 16 Jones made his competitive debut playing for The New Saints in the Welsh League Cup. In 2019, he signed for Hull City, where he spent six years, making four appearances and had four loan moves. Two of these loan moves were at Morecambe, over two spells. His first loan at The Shrimps was in 2021, where he spent six months, playing 18 times. He then returned in July 2024 for a season-long loan and made 40 appearances in all competitions. In between that, he had loan spells at Grimsby and Forest Green Rovers.

Callum was born in England but has represented Wales at Under 20’s level in October 2020 against England.

On signing for Dundee Callum said, “It’s a big opportunity for myself and my family. When it came about I wanted to get it done as quickly as possible, I spoke to Gordon Strachan and the manager. My agent and my family all thought it was the right decision and I’m buzzing to be here. I think the project is good, the new manager has a style of play that I like and I think he thinks I’ll suit it and I think I’ll definitely suit it.

“I know Ryan Astley, so I spoke with him before I signed, he told me how much he enjoys it here and he told me more about the club and the facilities. I think my mind was made up at that time but he cemented my thoughts.

“I would like to say that I’m a box-to-box midfielder with good technical ability. I definitely want to bring goals and assists and to try and help the team win as many games as possible. But I also think I’ve got that nasty side, a little bit of bite and I don’t mind rolling my sleeves up and putting myself about.”

Jones will wear the number 28 jersey for Dundee.
