Imari Samuels pens new deal

Dundee Football Club is delighted to announce that Imari Samuels has signed a new deal, committing his future until the summer of 2029 with a club option to extend further.

Defender Samuels joined the club in January 2025 from Brighton & Hove Albion, making his debut a week later in the Scottish Cup derby win at Tannadice.

The 23-year-old made 38 appearances last season. Having missed the start of this season due to injury, Samuels made his return to the side away to Heart of Midlothian in September and has started every game since.

Imari Samuels said:

“I’m really excited to get the deal over the line. I want to kick on from here now.

“To get the injury in pre-season was frustrating because my ambition was to kick on this season, so I had real drive to get back into the team.

“I think the way that we’ve been playing shows how much we want it this season, even when I was injured I enjoyed watching the games and now it’s good to be back involved.”

Steven Pressley added:

“In my time at the club, Imari has been a really key player for me. He’s very brave, he’s grown in confidence and belief and he’s a player whose performances probably don’t get the praise they deserve.

“He’s been a really consistent performer for us, and he’s still young, so we think there’s still a lot to come from Imari.”

Everyone at Dundee Football Club congratulates Imari on his new contract and wishes him all the best for the rest of the season and beyond.
