Dundee Sign Idris Odutayo

Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Idris Odutayo, subject to international clearance.

Odutayo left Bromley FC upon the expiry of his contract and had several options but has chosen to become the Dark Blues’ first signing of the season.

The defender, who is comfortable at centre back and left back, played 50 games for Bromley last season as they secured promotion to EFL League One in England.

The 23-year-old came through the ranks in Fulham’s academy before joining Maidenhead United on loan for the 2022/23 season. In February 2024, Odutayo joined Bromley, starting in the National League play-off final three months later as they secured promotion to the Football League for the first time.

Odutayo said: “It’s brilliant to get this move sorted and I can’t wait to get started at Dundee. There is a lot of positivity around the club off the back of last season, and I just want to get stuck in and hopefully play my part in another good year.

“Just from looking around the place I felt that Dundee would be a great fit for me, and speaking to Steven Pressley and David Longwell made me certain this was where I wanted to go. The season gets underway really soon and I’m looking forward to meeting everybody and giving it my best here.”

Steven Pressley added: “We’re delighted to bring Idris to the football club. He’s a young player that we believe has great potential and growth. At 23 years of age, he has amassed an impressive amount of first-team games, which I believe is pivotal in young players’Ā development.

He has gained promotion in two league campaigns, which again is a very impressive statistic for one so young. I look forward to giving him the platform to continue this upwards trajectory.”
