Heffernan is a dee

The club are delighted to announce the signing of Paul Heffernan.

An Irish striker who has experience of scoring goals in the Scottish top flight signs for the club after leaving Hibernian this evening.

Paul has played the majority of his career down south. He joined Notts County at the age of 18 and he spent fives years with the club, his most prolific season saw him net 21 times, before a move to Bristol City for a reported £150,000.

A season later he moved on again for six figures where he joined Doncaster Rovers. With his new club his continued to find the net, he spent four seasons as a regular in the first team, in that time helped them to promotion via the Play offs and netted in the Football League Trophy final as they went on to win the competition in 2007.

After a season with Sheffield Wednesday, Paul moved north to join Kilmarnock.

His first season at Rugby Park saw him net 11 times and help them to win the League Cup against Celtic.

Paul’s second season, he netted a further nine times before moving to join Hibs.

For the Easter Road club, he scored five times in his time with the Edinburgh club.

Paul is the fourth arrival of the January transfer window.
