Dundee Football Club are thrilled to announce the signing of midfielder Ethan Hamilton on a three-year deal from Lincoln City for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

The 26-year-old Scot joins the Dee after spending all of his professional career playing in England, but now returns to Scotland with the Dee.

Hamilton left Scotland at the age of 15 to join Manchester United. During his time at Manchester United, he played for the Under 18s,19s and 21s whilst having loan spells at Rochdale, Southend United and Bolton Wanderers. In 2020, Hamilton left Manchester United and signed for English League One side Peterborough United and was part of the squad that finished second and were promoted to the Championship, playing 34 league matches that season. He would then go on to spend two seasons with League One side Accrington Stanley, where he played 87 times, scoring 13 goals. In 2023, he continued his stay in League One, joining Lincoln City. During his time at the Imps, he played 82 times and scored three times.

Speaking after joining Dundee, Ethan said, “I’m delighted to be at the club. When I first heard of the interest, it was something I was really interested in and something that I wanted to take on. I heard about the interest about ten days ago, and from there it has moved along. I spoke to the manager and couldn’t wait to get it done.

“I know Ryan Astley, and he spoke so highly of the club and the people around the club. He said that I would love it here, and what the manager is building here is really exciting, and it’s something that I couldn’t wait to be part of.

“I’m a high-energy player who will always give my all for the team, and I’ll hopefully chip in with some goals as well. I’m really excited to get going and can’t wait to play in front of the fans.”
