Robertson earns Scotland Under 21’s call-up

The club would like to congratulate Finlay Robertson on his call-up to the Scotland Under 21’s squad. Fin will be available for Scotland’s UEFA Under 21’s European Championship qualifiers against Hungary and Malta on Friday and Tuesday. This is Fin’s first call-up to the under 21’s squad after being in the under 19’s squad in the past, he joins teammate Josh Mulligan in the squad. All the very best Fin!

Fin is a local boy who joined the Dundee FC Academy at age 11 and then made his debut for the club five years later at age 16 against St Mirren on the final day of the 2018/2019 season.

The young midfielder became a regular for Dundee the following season, playing in every game of the Betfred Cup group stage and the 2-1 defeat to Aberdeen in the last 16 of the competition. Finlay’s performances for Dundee led to a call-up to the Scotland U-19 squad for two matches against Japan in September 2019. Finlay also made a total of 16 appearances in the league, earning praise from his manager and the media alike, before the season was halted in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. His strong performances were recognised when he was awarded the Isobel Sneddon Young Player of the Year for season 2019/20.

Robertson was loaned out to Cove Rangers from September 2021 until January 2022 and made a total of 10 appearances for the club.

He was part of the Dundee squad that won the Scottish Championship in the 22/23 season.

In the summer of 2023, Fin signed a new two-year deal and has so far made eight appearances in all competitions this season. He has put in some great performances this season and is fully deserving of his call-up to the Scotland Under 21’s squad.
