- Dundee won the Scottish League Centenary Cup at Fir Park in 1990 when they defeated Ayr United 3-2 after extra time
- Motherwell originally played in blue until they changed to claret and amber in 1913. It is thought this was inspired by the success of Bradford City, who also sport claret and amber, although a more romantic version of events claims them to have been Lord Hamilton of Dalzell’s racing colours
- Motherwell’s 1932 League Championship winning manager John ‘Sailor’ Hunter was inducted into Dundee’s Hall of Fame last year with Heritage Award after he scored the winning goal for The Dee in the 1910 Scottish Cup Final
