Dundee United preview

Dundee welcome neighbours Dundee United up the street for the first Dundee derby of the season in a lunch time (12.15pm) kick off on Sunday for a match which is being televised live in the UK by Sky Sports

The Dee have started the season unbeaten in eight matches going into what will be the first of a Dundee derby double header, with the sides meeting again on Wednesday night in the League Cup.

United are without main striker Nadir Ciftci after he was sent off last weekend in their home draw with Hamilton Accies.

We would like to remind fans of both teams that the match is SOLD OUT. If you have a ticket we would ask that you arrive at the ground as early as possible. This will help to create a tremendous atmosphere ahead of the first derby of the season.

Dundee vs. Dundee United

Dens Park
Kick off 12.15pm

Kevin Thomson, Willie Dyer and Peter MacDonald will all miss out through injury.

Last time the clubs met, Dundee had to play the majority of the match with 10 men after Gary Irvine was given his marching orders. Ryan Conroy gave 10 man Dundee the lead but a late Michael Gardyne goal snatched a point for Dundee United at the death.

Scotland under 21 captain Stuart Armstrong could be fit after an injury lay off. If he plays, he is likely to be United’s main man.

Dundee FC Live will be brought to you direct from the club’s official website –

Fans outwith the UK will be able to tune in for only £5 to watch the action live.

We’ll also have live text updates to keep you up to date direct from Dens.
