  • Dundee Hibernian beat Dundee 1-0 in the Forfarshire Cup 1st round two weeks before changing their name to Dundee United
  • Dundee United have win the Forfarshire Cup 21 times to Dundee’s 27. The Dee also lead League Cup wins by 3 to 2
  • Dundee Hibernian originally wore green shirts, changed to white with the change of name in 1923 and to tangerine in 1969 at the behest of manager Jerry Kerr’s wife
  • Dundee United have participated in the promotion play offs twice with victory over Partick Thistle in 1996 and defeat to Hamilton Academical last season
  • Dundee and Dundee United share the same shirt sponsor McEwan Fraser
  • Dundee United’s first trophy came in 1925, when they won the 1924–25 Division Two championship
  • Dundee United’s last trophy came last season when they won the Irn-Bru Cup
  • Dundee and Dundee United have both reached the European Cup semi-final with ten cities now having had two teams to reach the last four
  • United have 10 former Dees in their Hall of Fame, namely Kenny Cameron, John Holt, Donald McKay, Billy Kirkwood, Billy Thomson, Jim McInally, Lee Wilkie, Jim McLean, Andy McLaren and Ian Redford
