Donnelly is back

Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Aaron Donnelly on a three-and-a-half-year deal from Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

Aaron spent last season with The Dee on loan where he made 21 appearances and received high praise for his performances in the Dark Blue. He made his first debut for Dundee on the 28th of October 2023 away to Livingston which Dundee won 0-2.

This season Aaron has been on loan at English League Two side Colchester United where he played 22 times.

In November last year, Aaron made his debut for the Northern Ireland senior squad coming on as a substitute against Andorra. Aaron has also represented Northern Ireland at Under 21’s, 17’s and 16’s level.

On signing for The Dee Aaron said, β€œI am absolutely delighted to be back at the club. As soon as I knew there was interest from the club it was a no-brainer to come back up here. My time here was excellent last season, really successful and I hope to pick up where I left off.

There was a real connection with the fans and the players last season and I’m looking to repay them for the great support and I can’t wait to get back out in front of them. I am really looking forward to seeing the fans again at Dens Park on Thursday night and make sure to bring the noise.”

Aaron will wear the number 50 for The Dee.

Welcome back to The Dee Aaron!
