The club can today announce the forthcoming retirement of financial director, Ian Crighton, at the end of February 2018.
When Ian originally accepted the appointment he indicated he would serve a maximum of 5 years and the February date is consistent with his original intention.
The club has decided to announce the change at this time to allow the recruitment of a successor to take place openly. It is hoped the appointment can be made without delay as this will facilitate a smooth handover of duties and allow the new appointee to be involved in the planning process for the next 30 months which starts in the new year.
Ian joined the board in 2013 at a time when the club needed investment in order to achieve premier league status in season 2014/15. He was heavily involved in securing the investment of FPS in the club. He assumed the role of chairman of the meeting that finally secured the agreement of fans and shareholders to the six figure investment and the introduction of John Nelms as Managing Director.
Ian’s successor will inherit a strong reporting and financial planning regime which has been developed over the past five years. They will be deeply involved in the club’s desired move to new stadium, training ground and the opportunities that will bring.
