Clark joins The Dee

Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Clark Robertson on a two-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The 30-year-old Scot had much interest from teams in Scotland and England after leaving Israeli side MS Ashdod but made the decision to join Tony Docherty’s side.

Robertson previously worked with Docherty at Aberdeen where he made 68 appearances, scoring three goals.

After Aberdeen he moved to Blackpool where he spent three seasons and was a regular in their side, he then moved to Championship side Rotherham United where he also spent three seasons. It was then onto Portsmouth for two seasons before a move to Israel with MS Ashdod where he spent last season.

Robertson has also played four times for Scotland Under 19’s and eleven times for Scotland Under 21’s.

On signing for Dundee Clark Robertson said, “I’m buzzing to sign for the club and to be coming back to Scotland. I’ve worked with the manager before at Aberdeen and when I spoke to him I was really excited about what he had to say. He’s played a big part in getting me here and hopefully I can repay that faith he has shown in me. Dundee is a great club, they had a great season last year finishing in the top 6 and they have some really exciting young players and it was something that I wanted to be part of. I think Dundee is the perfect move for me at this stage in my career. I got experience over the past nine years playing in England and then abroad last season and hopefully I can use that experience to help the younger boys at the club.”
