Dundee Football Club are excited to announce that attacking midfielder Travis Boyd has signed his first professional football contract.
Travis has recently turned sixteen and has come through the Dundee FC Performance School at St John’s High School. He captained Dundee’s under 15’s side last season, who won the cup double, winning the CAS League and the CAS Cup. In the 4-2 CAS Cup final, Dundee defeated Celtic 4-2 with Travis scoring a hat-trick.
Speaking after signing his first professional contract for Dundee FC, Travis said, “It’s special, I’ve been at this club for a long time now, so to sign my first professional contract at the club is special. The performance school has been great for me, and it’s a good balance between learning in school and then playing football, which has really helped my development.
“Last season was brilliant, being the captain, and captaining the team to two trophies was unreal and very special. I want to keep that good form going this season and to win more trophies for the club.
“As a player I feel like my biggest strength is on the ball and creating opportunities, but I need to work on my physicality and that is something that I am working hard on. This season I want to do really well with the under 19’s and become a regular for them, then the next steps would be starting to break through to the first team.”
