Bland signs professional contract

Dundee Football Club are delighted to announce that young striker Ryan Bland has signed his first professional contract at the club.

Bland, who recently turned sixteen, has come through the Dundee FC Performance School at St John’s High School.

Only sixteen, but Ryan has already experienced first-team action on Saturday 28th June 2025, Ryan played for the first-team in their friendly match against Arbroath. Ryan came off the bench in the 75th minute to replace trialist Tommy McDermott as Dundee secured a 0-2 victory at Gayfield. As well as playing at Gayfield, Ryan has also experienced playing at Hampden, coming off the bench in the Scottish Youth Cup Final against Kilmarnock in April.

Speaking after signing his professional contract at Dundee, Ryan said, “I am so pleased to have signed for the club and I can’t wait to be here at Gardyne regularly, learning from all the people at the club. I have learnt a lot during my time at the Performance School at St John’s. It has been really good to still get an education, but also to become a better footballer, and I think I’ve got better since being at the Performance School. I want to say thank you to all my coaches who have spent a lot of time with me.

I’ve seen the players that have come through the academy over the last number of years and made it into the first team squad, and I want to do what they have done and be part of the first team.”
