Scott Bain has today been named in Gordon Strachan’s Scotland squad for the upcoming Qatar Airways Cup against Qatar and European Qualifier against Ireland.
Should the Dens keeper earn his first cap he will become the first Dundee player to make an appearance for Scotland since Gavin Rae and Lee Wilkie faced Netherlands in 2003.
Scott signed for the Club last summer and throughout the season has impressed with a number of fine performances. In April, he signed a new deal to extend his stay at Dens.
Alongside Scott in the squad, are ex Dundee players, Leigh Griffiths and Craig Forsyth. Charlie Adam who will turn out for Dundee in Julian Speroni’s testimonial next week is also in the squad.
