Club CEO Scot Gardiner today announced the appointment of Archie Knox as Head of Squad Development.
The CEO said, “When Manager John Brown first suggested we talk to Archie a number of months back we were unable to act but thankfully we all kept in touch and I am very pleased to have agreed everything at Dens this afternoon. It is an understatement to say but Archie has a wealth of football knowledge and his contact list in the game is utterly extensive. He is joining the staff at Dens to focus on 1st team squad recruitment and I am sure that contact list and his experience can be utilised fully in the best interests of Manager John Brown and the squad moving forward.”
Directors Steve Martin,John Nelms and the CEO all met with Archie prior to Saturdays 4-1 victory at Dumbarton and John Nelms today said, “We are very excited to see Archie join our staff and he fits perfectly into our plans to strengthen the Football Dept and broaden our search for talent and we are looking forward to working with him in identifying possible targets who could join us here at DFC.”
Archie Knox himself expressed his pride and delight on re-joining the Dee saying “I have many happy memories from my time here and when Bomber spoke to me about this role I was more than happy join. Especially when I heard the plans for the future of the club from Scot and the Directors I met. I will be doing my best to help get the club back to where we all want to be.”
