Manager Paul Hartley and Scott Bain faced the media this morning ahead of this weekend’s match with Rangers at Dens.
Greg Stewart was the main talking point after the club accepted a bid from Birmingham City for the player. Greg missed out of last week’s win over Ross County through injury and the manager said of the situation, “He’s still a Dundee player, he is part of the squad for Saturday, he trained today and is available for selection. He missed Monday and Tuesday because of injury.”
“He’s turned down the personal terms just now. Will that change? I don’t know, but I have to work with a group that’s ready for Saturday and Greg is part of that.”
Last season’s Ladbrokes Championship winners Rangers are the visitors for the first home league match of the season, a fixture the manager is looking forward to, he said “It’s a game we are really looking forward to and hopefully we will get another good performance and result.”
The win last week sees Dundee sitting at the top of the table going into the match, the manager continued, “We want to build momentum, the first league game is always important to get points on the board early doors.”
Injury news ahead of the match is looking good for Dundee, Hartley confirmed, “We are looking pretty strong, James (McPake) and Nicky Low will be out but apart from that we have a strong squad to choose from.”
