cinch Premiership

League action returns tomorrow after the international break with Dundee taking on the champions of Scotland at Celtic Park. The last time Celtic last lost at home in the league was January 2021, so Dundee know the task lying in wait as they face last season’s treble winners. Dundee’s last win at Celtic Park came on 13th May 2001, when a Fabian Caballero doubled secured the points for the Dee as they triumphed 2-0. But the Dee go into this match in good spirits after a good start to the season, The Dee currently sit in sixth position with five points. As manager Tony Docherty said, “This is the reason why we are in the Premiership, to test ourselves against the best.”

Team News

Antonio Portales and Aaron Donnelly will miss the trip to Celtic Park but are both making good progress in their recovery from injury. Everyone else in the squad is available for the match.

Luke McCowan

“We’ve got to treat it as a normal game. We know how tough a challenge it’s going to be to go there. Everybody going there knows that, even Real Madrid struggled for 60 minutes there. We are up for the challenge and as a team we will stick together and focus on our own performance.

Tony’s thoughts

“The boys are in a really buoyant mood, with four boys just coming back from international duty after doing very well. We are really looking forward to this game, we know it’s going to be difficult, of course it is, it’s the champions, it’s the team at the top of the league. This is the reason why we are in the Premiership to test ourselves against the best. At the moment, they are the best team in the league. They are sitting at the top for a reason. It will be a test for us, but the boys are very much looking forward to it.” – Tony Docherty
