Dundee vs Aberdeen
Saturday 23rd December
3pm kick-off
The Scot Foam Stadium
cinch Premiership
After three away matches we are back at home tomorrow as we welcome Aberdeen to The Scot Foam Stadium.
Tomorrow will be our seventeenth league match of the season, but it’s our first encounter with Aberdeen this season. The Dons are the only side in the league that we haven’t yet come up against, with our match back in October against Aberdeen at Pittodrie being postponed due to severe weather conditions throughout the country. A new date for this fixture at Pittodrie is still to be arranged.
Aberdeen have played 28 matches since the start of August, competing in the league, League Cup and Europa Conference League. Barry Robson’s side will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointed of losing the League Cup final against Rangers.
The last meeting between Dundee and Aberdeen in the League was at Pittodrie on 30th April 2022 with The Dons winning 1-0. The last time the sides met in Dundee was Saturday 2nd April 2022 and it was a 2-2 draw.
Aberdeen played on Wednesday night in the league and defeated Livingston 2-1. Aberdeen currently sit in eighth position on 19 points, two points behind Dundee in seventh position.

Tony Docherty
“Aberdeen has represented Scotland and the league very well in Europe. They’re a very good team, and Barry Robson is a very good manager. We will give them all the respect, as you should do as a football team. We know it’s going to be a difficult match, but it’s one we will endeavour to pick up points at home. We’ve just had three away games there, and we’ve come out reasonably well. We now have a run of four games in 11 days, with three of them being at home. We will do all we can to try and win that match, but we do realise it’s a tough opponent, and again, we respect the club and their manager.”
Trevor Carson
“They’ve got great players and a good young manager. We’re expecting a really tough battle, but hopefully they’ll be hurting from the Cup final on Sunday and another tough midweek game against Livingston. We’re going to be fresh and on the back of a positive result on Saturday and again, we will be in front of our home fans. We’re expecting a big performance and, hopefully, a positive result.”
