“I’m buzzing for it”

James Horsfield spoke to the media ahead of tonight’s match with Hibernian at the Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park.

The on loan Scunthorpe man joined in the final week of the January transfer window and told the press he has settled in quickly at Dundee, he said, “I’m really enjoying it. The first game was Hamilton, we ended up drawing. The next game we could have won it with the late penalty and then a really good result on Saturday.”

“I came up here with the impression that is not going to be easy and definitely found that out. There are a lot of good teams, good players and good football.”

The team go into the Hibs match on the back of a fantastic away win at Livingston which lifted the team out of the bottom two, “I’m not 100% sure what it was like before I came here but we have a good set of lads and we are all working really hard and we know the situation we are in. We have to work as hard as possible to make sure this club remains in the Premiership.”

Asked if the team has gelled together with so many additions in the window, James insisted that things will only get better the more the new players play together, “It comes with games. We are a relatively new team, the more we get to know each other the better we are going to play together.”

“I think it’s clicking, it’s worked so far, we aren’t getting carried away, we know there is a long long way to go to the end of the season. We have to keep working hard and keep fighting for each other.”

The match with Hibs will give the new players another opportunity to see the Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park under the lights, the match is also live on BT Sport, James is looking forward to the contest, “I’m buzzing for it. These are the occasions you want as a footballer. You want to be put on that stage. It’s another opportunity to show everyone what you can do.”

“Two teams who are going to go all out for there three points and I’m confident we will come out on top.”
