Joe Shaughnessy

Joe was manager’s Tony Docherty’s first signing as Dundee manager, joining the club from St Mirren.

The Irish Defender has a wealth of experience in Scottish football playing over 250 matches.

Shaughnessy moved from Ireland to sign for Aberdeen when he was 16 years old, where he spent six years, which included loan spells with Forfar and Falkirk. He then spent four years with St Johnstone before moving down South to Southend United. Joe returned to Scotland signing for St Mirren in 2020.

A few weeks after signing for the club Tony Docherty named Joe as the clubs new captain. He made for his competitive debut for the club against Bonnyrigg Rose in the Viaplay Cup.
