St Johnstone – Match Preview

St Johnstone – Match Preview

Tomorrow, 11th February, we are back at The Scot Foam Stadium for our rearranged fixture against St Johnstone. Sunday’s match is a 2pm kick-off It is the only cinch Premiership match of the weekend meaning both sides will be looking to take advantage of this situation. Dundee go into this match in 6th position in the league, whereas St Johnstone currently sit in 10th position but there are only two points between the sides. The visitors will know that a win will take them into 6th position whereas for The Dee a win would allow them to go three points clear of 7th placed Hibs. There is a lot to play for in this match for both teams. The first meeting of the sides was back in September in Perth, when St Johnstone scored two late goals, to earn a point in a 2-2 draw.

Team News

Charlie Reilly, Ryan Howley and Antonio Portales remain out injured. Ricki Lamie has returned to training.

Tony Docherty

I’m expecting a tough game. I watched them against Hearts and I think what Craig Levein has done in there is make them very hard to beat. He has made them organised and I have great respect for Craig. I expect his team to be a difficult opponent and I know we’ll need to be at our best to beat them. Hopefully with us being at home and with the crowd behind us, we can do all we can to put on a level of performance that would merit us getting the points.

Lyall Cameron

“St Johnstone are a well organised side with an experienced manager and experienced players. We know it’s not going to be an easy game on Sunday, but we just need to give it our best and hopefully perform well and be one of our good days and get the three points.”
