Norman Robertson

Norman Robertson

Dundee Football Club were saddened to hear of the recent death of lifelong Dundee supporter, Norman Robertson, who died peacefully at the age of 94.

Norman was a regular at Dens and was attending home matches until very recently.  He was the senior partner of Blackadder Solicitors for a number of years.  He started with his father’s firm, Blackadder, Gilchrist and Robertson, which after various mergers became Blackadders LLP.  Although he retired in 2002 as senior partner after 50 years’ service, he continued to act as a trustee where he sat on the board of a number of different trusts.

Norman was invited onto the board of Dundee Football Club in 1993.  He said that he would have loved to have accepted, but he reluctantly declined, as he had too many other commitments.  However, he offered his assistance when possible and acted as Club Secretary for a number of years.

Due to his lifelong support of Dundee, he was a regular attender at Dens in the main stand and occasionally in the boardroom as a guest of the club.  Norman was also Dundee’s citizen of the year for 2003 due to his enthusiastic support to a number of charities.

The club will be represented at his funeral by Directors and members of staff

Everyone at Dundee Football Club would like to pass on their condolences to Norman’s family at this sad time.
