Manager previews Motherwell visit

Dundee return to action at Dens Park this week against Motherwell following a victory over Hamilton Accies last Saturday.

Manager Paul Hartley faced the press today ahead of the visit of The Steelmen. He told the press, “Our main objective now is to try and jump above Ross County this weekend but we know we are up against a good Motherwell team. It will be hard fought, they had a good result and they play an attacking style of football.”

“We are trying to get as many points as we can, we want to try and have a good result before the break to give us that confidence coming back. Training has been good this week, the players are feeling good about themselves. We’ve just got to keep it going and working as hard as we can.”

A draw or win on Saturday will see Dundee move off the foot of the Ladbrokes Premiership, the manager is first and foremost looking to try and get some momentum going on the back of last week’s win, he said, “The important thing for us is to try and build on last week’s performance. To try and get the three points again and be as close to the other teams, there is not a lot between us and if we can get another good result on Saturday then we are not far off the rest of the teams. Our thing is to try and get off the bottom, we need to keep getting the points.”

Injury wise the manager still has a few missing but it’s likely he will have a couple of player returning to his selection thoughts, “We’ve still got a couple out. O’Hara is still out but he is not too far away, he has done a bit of light jogging this week. Bakhtaoui is still a couple of weeks away. Gomis will hopefully be ok. Bain still feeling a little bit of a knock, he’s trained but still not feeling the best so we will assess him tomorrow. Nicky Low is ok. We are getting there, still a couple out but we have a good strong squad for Saturday.”
