Christian and John to leave club

Dundee FC can announce that Christian Nade and John Gibson will leave the Club at the end of their current contracts.

Both players played their part during this historic Championship winning season and everyone at Dens Park wishes them the very best in the future.

Christian joined the club in January this year and made his debut nine days later away to Falkirk.

He played 13 times for the club under both John Brown and Paul Hartley. After impressing initially as a substitute in the early stages of Hartley’s period in charge, Christian was given a start on March 1st against Morton at Dens and repaid the faith by scoring his first goal for the club after 13 minutes.

His crowning moments in a Dark Blue shirt came in the final two weeks of the season as he scored against Alloa and Dumbarton as Dundee sealed the title.

Goalkeeper John has spent five years with the club since joining in 2009.

John played a big role in Dundee’s title win this season despite only being on the park for just over 30 minutes. Following injury to Kyle Letheren at Raith, John came off the bench and produced two fantastic saves as Dundee went on to snatch all three points with two injury time goals.

One of those saves came between the two goals and turned out to be vital in the run in.

John was loaned out for first team experience during his time at Dens, spending time with Sligo Rovers, Montrose and Elgin City for three spells during his time at Dens.
