Celtic – Match Preview

Celtic – Match Preview

Tomorrow is the fourth meeting of the two sides this season as both teams play their first post-spilt match of the season. Celtic currently sit three points ahead of Rangers at the top of the Premiership with five matches to go. Dundee come into this match in sixth position two points behind St Mirren, and both teams are hoping to secure fifth position which will secure a European spot. The three previous meetings between Celtic and Dundee this season have all gone in favour of the current Scottish Champions. The first meeting back in September at Celtic Park saw Celtic secure a 3-0 victory, the second meeting also had the same scoreline this time at The Scot Foam Stadium. Celtic had a night to remember in February at Celtic Park when the teams last met with Celtic winning 7-1 in what was a night to forget for The Dee. Since then Dundee have bounced back strong and Celtic have continued their good form as they go for their third league title in a row.

Tony Docherty

“There is a good feeling around the boys. There is a feeling of confidence after achieving another objective. There is also a realisation that the Celtic that is coming here on Sunday is a fantastic football team. I have huge respect for their manager, Brendan Rodgers, and his staff. We realise how big of a task this is going to be, but when we played the other half of the old firm last week, I thought it was such a strong performance. We are going to have to replicate that type of performance to give us any chance of picking up points from the game.”

Malachi Boateng

“We are excited for the game ahead. No one is going to be taking their foot off the gas yet, there is still five games to go. We just need to try to get as many points as we can. Europe is definitely there for us. As a group, we always want to strive for more and look up the table, so it’s definitely achievable for us.”
