O’Dea set to return

Manager Paul Hartley was handed an injury boost this week when Darren O’Dea received scan results to show no major damage to his foot. The central defender had missed the match last weekend against Hearts but is set for a recall this Sunday against St. Johnstone after returning to training following his results.

It isn’t all good news on the injury front as the manager confirmed both Nicky Low and Mark O’Hara are set to miss out the Perth trip, “Darren is back which is a boost. Nicky Low is struggling, Mark O’Hara is going to struggle, I think he’ll need a little tidy up in terms of a little operation.”

Defeat at Tynecastle saw Dundee drop to the foot of the table but the manager confirmed the players are still in a positive frame of mind, “The spirit is still good, I know the league table doesn’t look good but the mood with the players is good, we’ve trained hard and they are looking forward to the game on Sunday.”

“The first nine games, we’ve not been quite good enough yet. Things are tight down at the bottom, it’s not a position we want to be in but I’ve still got great belief in the squad.

“The last two performances have been pleasing for us, not getting the results against two good teams but how we performed, especially last week where we created chances. We’ve just got to keep working hard and that is what the players have done, they are great to work with and hopefully we can turn it on Sunday.”
