Hamilton preview

Saturday sees Dundee involved in the biggest game in the country as they take on Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park.

With only five games remaining, both teams sit joint on points and goal difference at the top of the SPFL Championship table.

Dundee will have a large backing of supporters who will be hoping for a repeat of the last trip to Hamilton when Dundee put in a fantastic professional performance and came away with a 3-0 victory.

Manager Paul Hartley told us his squad are looking forward to the match, “It’s going to be a massive game, It’s going to be the biggest game in Scotland. We’ll take a good following down there. I’m sure the supporters will back the players. The players are looking forward to it.”

The other matches this season between the sides have seen a 0-0 draw and a 1-0 victory in Paul’s first game in charge of Dundee. The Dee came flying out the traps and Martin Boyle opened the scoring early on before two Hamilton players saw red and they ended the match with 9 men.

That was Accies only defeat in the past 10 games and both sides come into the match on a run of good form. That said, both teams will have ended last Saturday wishing they’d come away with more from their matches. Dundee lost out 1-0 to Falkirk despite putting in a decent performance and Hamilton were pegged back by Cowdenbeath despite taking the lead in injury time.

Kyle Benedictus returns from suspension and Dundee will also hope to include Jim McAlister in the squad despite him leaving the field against Falkirk after a head knock.
