Hamilton Preview

Dundee are in action this weekend when they visit New Douglas Park to take on Hamilton Accies on Saturday at 3pm.

Knocks to both Kevin Thomson and Greg Stewart picked up last weekend will keep them out of the match. Manager Paul Hartley had hoped they would make it but it’s come too soon for both players. One other player who the manager had hoped to welcome back to the side is Paul McGowan. The midfield has missed the last two games with a knee injury. The manager said, “We thought he maybe had a wee chance but he’s probably another week away.”

The injuries mean as well as personnel changes, there may have to be a change in shape, Paul went on to say, “We’ve worked on a few things this week and we’ll probably need to tinker a few positions. We are down to the bare bones again this week.”

The match will be the second meeting of the teams in this season’s Premiership campaign. The two promoted clubs first met at Dens in October with Dundee running out 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Greg Stewart and David Clarkson. The boss made it clear they knew what they are in for with a trip to Hamilton, “This is a tough game for us, Hamilton are really strong at home. We know how they play, we know what they are about so we need to make sure we play for the full game this week.”
