Fast Facts – Ross County

– Ross County were formed in 1929 with the merger of two North Caledonian Football League sides Dingwall Victoria United and Dingwall Thistle.
– Ross County won the second, third and fourth tiers of the Scottish League and the Challenge Cup twice
– Ross County won the Highland League three times in 1967, 1991 and 1992
– Ross Countyā€™s nickname TheĀ Staggies is taken from their badge which is a Caberfeidh, or Stagā€™s Head. This in turn was taken from the regimental badge of theĀ Seaforth Highlanders, the regiment which fought alongside the Black Watch at the Battle of Loos in World War One
– Ross County have seven different nationalities in their first team squad
– Two former Dees, Bobby Wilson and John Robertson have managed Ross County while the current assistant manager is former Dee Billy Dodds
– The first match between the clubs was a pre season friendly in Dingwall in 1986 which Dundee won 7-0 thanks to goals from Jack (2), McKinlay, Harvey (3), Smith
– The first competitive match between Dundee and Ross County was a Scottish Cup fourth round replay on February 17th 1998 which The Dee won 3-0
– The Dark Blues are undefeated in the last three games against Ross County at Dens with the last one being 5-2 win in April
– Dundee goalkeeper David Mitchell started his first game for the club in that last home game against The Staggies
