I was mocked a couple of months back when I claimed Partick, Queens and County were not title contenders, and only Caley and Dunfermline were capable of finishing above us. The Pars have fallen away but it is becoming ever clearer that the Inverness side is the only genuine title threat.
A comfortable 3-1 win over Queens suggests they may have overcome their problems at home. Thankfully, we have a six point gap. We need to keep it and avoid a last day winner-takes-all encounter. I don't think my heart could take it. |

| As I've said elsewhere we have Ayr and Airdrie away and Queens at home in our next three league games and a real chance if we hit a decent level of form to get 9 points. The two very winnable games against Raith (2nd & 3rd last game of the season) could be our chance to sew it up. I doubt if even the most ardent thrill seeker would want to play ICT away to win the league so hopefully we can wrap it up before then. It's still in our hands. |

Agreed that it's crystal clear now that ICT are the main threat to our promotion challenge. Both QOS and County look incapable of putting together the type of run required to get over the finish line first. ICT are on an impressive unbeaten run and last night's score will undoubtedly increase their belief that they can continue this form to the end of the season. I supose it's fortunate that we don't need to play them until the last game of the season. Hopefully by then the result will be academic. It's going to be a hard slog as I think we'll need 6 wins and 3 draws in our next 9 games to clinch the title but we can do it. |

| ICT still have to play County twice as well as QOS away. Like so many others have said on numerous posts in the past if we take care of our own results it doesnt matter what they or any other team do. |

I always felt the same, paul. Makes you even more thankful for that late fight back last Saturday. Had we lost Inverness would have been just 3 behind. That could be the point that wins us promotion. |

Just reinforces yet again the collective mentality/strength/fortitude of DFC players, management and coaching staff.
Oh that this could ignite all our fans to be likewise.
The DFC army is getting rid to march!!!! Please no deserters or worse conscientious objectors! |

| I still think it is more than a two horse race. we would do well not to rule out either Ross County nor Queen of the South though I think the rest can be ruled out. I think it will be finshed before the last game of the season - I hope in our favour. Can you imagine the atmosphere in Inverness if we have won the championship and they are second. what a way to bow out from this league. |

The real threat is still some questions about the teams self belief. They have a strong squad, a great support and time is now, this year! Believe and go for it. Don't look back, it's there for the taking! |

I dont think self belief is a problem. Overconfidence has been a couple of times notably against Ross County, Airdrie and Raith early in the season. Effort is what will see us through. If the whole team gives 100% effort and match our opposition for industry, especially in midfield, then the slight advantage we have in quality and squad depth will see us through.
I relly expect to see Dundee move up a gear as we close in. I think they have it in their locker to do so as has been seen with some good comebacks this season. Next three league games are all very winnable and it is vital to do so. Win those and the battle is almost won. |

| Listening into Radio Scotland tonight a good point was made about team spirit and most League Winners possess a close knit unit of players, I believe the Dee have this spirit of togetherness a good sign for the coming weeks. |

Queens and Ross County are both still in a better position to overhaul us, although i don't think they will.
In this league 6 points is a lot to make up over 11 games.
If we imploded and got say only 3 wins and 6 draws from our last 11 games we would end up with 63 points. To pass us ICT would have to take 22 points from their last 11 games. People seem to be emphasiing they are on a fantastic "unbeaten run".
For comparison their last 11 games have netted them 20 points! So even if they could maintain this run against Ross County, Queens, Dunferline and us, they would still come up short.

The talk is of "threats" "who we should look out for" "if we win so many and they draw games" etc etc. I am sure our management team are drumming into the playing staff that "keep winning guys and to hell with the rest" Even our players are fully aware that they concentrate on the business in hand between now and the seasons end and we will be playing SPL football next season. It does not matter who or where we play for the remainder of the season only the best will do and let's stop worrying about all these impending "threats" Onwards and upwards!! |

XPAT- Agree with you 1M%.
ICT are SIX points behind us and that's somehow viewed as being DFC'S significant obstacle!

| We should worry a little less about which other teams are the biggest threat and concentrate on winning our own matches. |

Lets win it before the last day; no way we'll all get into the away end at Caley and what with their weird system of a queue to buy a ticket from that wee hut and then again for the 2 turnstiles!
Remember; they couldn't cope with a few hundred on Boxing Day! |
